Baptism

First Confession

2nd grade students in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School and Religious Education program prepare and receive First Confession. Older children through the age of 14 are prepared through the RCIC program and adults participate int the RCIA program.

First Communion

2nd grade students in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic School and Religious Education program prepare and receive First Holy Communion. Older children through the age of 14 are prepared through the RCIC program and adults participate int the RCIA program.

The sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion are generally administered to students in 2nd grade who meet the following requirements:

  • Students must have a Baptismal certificate or Profession of Faith certificate on file in the School or Religious Education office.
  • Parents must attend Parent Preparation Classes for both Reconciliation and First Communion.
  • Students in both programs participate in a joint retreat for First Communion.
  • Students in the public school system enrolling in the Religious Education program must have completed a 1st grade Religion class or been enrolled in a 1st grade Catholic school class.
  • Students enrolled in the Religious Education program may not miss more than 3 classes per semester or reception of the sacraments may be delayed till the following year.

Confirmation

Confirmation is offered to all Catholic youth currently in the 10th grade and older. Preparation includes classes, service projects, prayer service and a retreat. Each is a chance to experience our faith through the awesome power of the Holy Spirit and allow our youth to express their love for Christ by sharing their faith in Parish and the community. Adult volunteers are needed as catechist and/or assistants willing to teach the provided Confirmation Prep curriculum. Training is provided.

Marriage

Make an appointment with a parish priest at least six months prior to the anticipated wedding date. The priest will set the date on the calendar. One of the engaged pair or his or her parent MUST be a registered parishioner.

Anointing of the Sick

The Anointing of the Sick is appropriately requested by those who are not only ill or in danger of death, but also by those preparing for surgical procedures or coping with emotional or psychological distress.
